“As an Indonesian citizen who experiences life in four eras of the era of independence, the old order, the new order, and the current era of reform, I assuredly feel all the beats and dynamics of this nation. Therefore, in the momentum of this birthday, let me convey a kind of cultural advice or message to all of us. This is a big nation with abundant wealth and a nation that has a rich culture. Take care of our rich culture, take care of our diverse culture. To the millennials, the world has changed. It’s now entering the digital society era. It’s full of challenges and so on, but never abandon the noble culture of this nation,” said Mooryati.
Despite her growing age, Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo still always looks excellent, beautiful, tidy, and charming. She seemed to look younger when compared with her age now. When asked about this, Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo revealed that she has most never forgotten everyday ritual of drinking jamu. The natural herbal concoctions have been drunk since she was a child and she still continues to maintain these habits. She has been felt the efficacy of jamu. Her body remained fit and youthful. “Since I was young, I drink jamu regularly, even now I still constantly drink it. I usually drink galangal-rice jamu, which I make myself at home. As the development of the times, currently, jamu has been packaged in a modern way like Nge-Jamu Van by Mustika Ratu, so that the young generation does not abandon the culture of drinking original Indonesian jamu,” said Mooryati.
Because of her expertise in concocting jamu, Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo established a herbal and cosmetic company in Indonesia, PT. Mustika Ratu, Tbk. Starting from her garage, the business run by Mooryati Soedibyo continues to grow every year. Its business has helped create jobs that directly improve the lives of many Indonesian families. Not only that, this business also becomes Indonesia’s pride as one of the best quality products made from natural ingredients and produced from Indonesian resources, which is loved in foreign countries. Of course, this will generate foreign exchange for the country, and contribute to maintaining the country’s economic stability.
Mustika Ratu with its superior products has succeeded in penetrating global markets such as Canada, the United States, Iraq, and in the near future following other European and Asian countries. It continues to innovate to create quality products and of course meet all standards that apply to local and global markets. Mustika Ratu herbal products are made from various concoctions according to the original without preservatives, safe, and healthy. Therefore, the founder of Mustika Ratu, Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo, continues to be a legend to become the Master of Jamu, recognized on an international scale.
With all the knowledge about Javanese tradition and culture that Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo possessed, she began documenting this knowledge in book form. Her first book is “Seni Ngadi Saliro dan Ngadi Busono” (1978). Then she wrote “Alam Sumber Kesehatan” in 1998 which according to her is an encyclopedia of jamu.
