Jakarta – Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) and also chairman of the Advisory Board of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani received the Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo in an official ceremony at the State Palace, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
This award is one of the honors given by the Government of Indonesia to individuals who have provided outstanding services to the nation and state.
Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana is included in the category of Bintang Mahaputra, a sign of Honor one level below Bintang Mahaputra Adipurna which is only accepted by the President and Vice President.
The Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana is awarded to the princess who has shown devotion, dedication, and outstanding contributions in various fields such as government, politics, society, culture, economy, and humanity and has performed an important role in national development, strengthening the integrity and sovereignty of the state, and improving the welfare of society.
As the President’s Advisory Council, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani championed various social, economic, and cultural aspects. One of the important initiatives she leads is to fight for the healthy culture of herbal medicine to be submitted as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB) to UNESCO, officially recognized as Indonesia’s WBTB by UNESCO on December 6, 2023.
Putri encourages the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2023 concerning the development and utilization of herbal medicine, which is a reference for stakeholders in preparing and implementing activity programs by their respective competencies, duties, and authorities.
Putri also proposed to the government the importance of having a national Kebaya day to be commemorated and at the same time as a means of promoting national cultural heritage. Through Presidential Decree No. 19 in 2023, the government set July 24 as the National Kebaya Day (HKN). This presidential decree confirms that kebaya is a national identity that must be preserved and is fighting for Indonesian kebaya to be recognized as WBTB by UNESCO.
In addition, Putri contributed to encouraging the people’s economy through the existence of MSMEs and traditional markets. Its role is seen in the issuance of Presidential Regulation 112/2007 and Permendag 53/2008 which provide a strong foundation for the growth of MSMEs and traditional markets in Indonesia.
Putri became the initiator and coordinator of the formation of an alliance of 11 Multi-industry associations (including APPSI, AP3MI, PPÁK Kosmetika, Gabel, GAPMMI) that fight for the existence of national industries and traditional markets to exist properly, keep up with the demands of the times, and be able to compete with modern markets.
One of the alliance members, for example, the Indonesian Market Traders Association (APPSI), has an extensive network throughout the region and plays a major role in helping the government create a market ecosystem that prioritizes the interests of traders and customer convenience.
Some of the efforts made related to regulation include overseeing the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 112 of 2007 and Permendag No. 53 of 2008 on the arrangement and development of traditional markets, shopping centers, and modern stores, including the terms of partnership and Trading Terms as well as zoning arrangements, opening hours/closing hours, and the priority of local mini markets in licensing.
As Deputy Chairman of Kadin, Putri has encouraged the issuance of the governor of DKI Regulation No. 49/2013 on the utilization of Culture-based business products, where all elements of Tourism and community services businesses, such as offices, malls, hotels, and tourism areas need to optimize the utilization of local culture-based business products, such as employee uniforms, room decorations, room displays, minimum food, and so forth.
Putri is also the founder of the Indonesian Brand Association (AMIN) which aims to strengthen the existence of products, especially Indonesian brands, to host in their own country and be an honored guest in other countries.
Some of the efforts made include controlling the implementation of the Ministry of Trade Regulation No. 70 of 2013 which requires domestic retailers and stores to market 80% of domestic products, as well as several other regulations.
As a member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Putri specifically gave various advice and considerations to the President for the following matters, strengthening MSMEs in culture-based creative industries, strengthening herbal medicine as a cultural heritage, and driving the nation’s economy, strengthening regulations and institutions related to the roadmap for the development and utilization of Indonesian herbal medicine, reducing inequality and poverty through strengthening the people’s economy, global economic contraction and strengthening domestic economic measures, accelerating the prevention and control of stunting, and others, both individually and collectively.
As the central figure behind Yayasan Puteri Indonesia (YPI), Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani is also instrumental in producing quality young Indonesian women’s human resources through the Puteri Indonesia election event and making the Puteri Indonesia election a means of educating young Indonesians who not only have theoretical knowledge of the classroom (academic) alone, but also able to show creativity, talent, appropriate and attractive appearance, good behavior, courage, and hold on to the truth (5B: Beauty, Brain, Behavior, Bravery, and Be Right). Through YPI, Putri has contributed significantly to the development of young Indonesian human character.
Not only that, Putri also replaced the various appreciation of the previous winners in the form of material, such as cash, vehicles, and electronic goods, into various S1, S2, and S3 scholarships from various public and private universities as part of preparing superior and best human resources towards Indonesia gold 2045. The winner of the Puteri Indonesia election then became an ambassador representing Indonesia on various occasions, both nationally and internationally.
This Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana award symbolizes recognition for significant services and contributions that have a very positive impact on the progress of the nation and state. Not only is it a symbol of honor, but it also reflects the country’s appreciation for the extraordinary dedication and commitment of its recipients in fighting for the interests and common good of the Indonesian people.
