Jakarta – (Deceased) Dr. Hj. BRA. Mooryati Soedibyo was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Indonesian Beauty Preservation award at the Kartini Award ceremony organized by Trans TV and CNN. This prestigious event occurred at the Ritz Carlton, Pacific Place Jakarta, on Friday (28/8).
The award was received by her daughter, Putri Kuswisnu Wardani, who currently serves on the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) and is also the Chief Advisor of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation. In her speech, Putri Kuswisnu Wardani expressed her gratitude and pride for the award given to her deceased mother.
“We hope this award can inspire more Indonesian women to continue to work and positively contribute to society and the country,” said Putri.
Dr. Hj. BRA. Mooryati Soedibyo was born on 5 January 1928 in Surakarta, Central Java. As the granddaughter of the King of Surakarta Pakubuwono X, she grew up in a palace environment that is thick with Javanese cultural values and traditions.
From a young age, Mrs. Mooryati showed a great interest in traditional health and beauty, especially in the use of herbs that were passed down from generation to generation.
In 1975, she founded PT Mustika Ratu, a company engaged in beauty, herbal medicine, and health.
With a strong determination, Mrs. Mooryati managed to develop her business to become one of the leading companies in Indonesia that produces various natural-based beauty products. Her innovation and dedication in elevating Indonesia’s cultural wealth through Mustika Ratu products brought great influence not only in the country but also in the international arena.
In addition to taking part in the business world, Mrs. Mooryati is also active in various social and community activities. She founded the Puteri Indonesia Foundation which aims to develop the potential and talents of young Indonesian women. Through this foundation, she plays a role in organizing the Puteri Indonesia contest which has produced many outstanding women who contribute positively to society.
Struggle for women’s rights and education
Not only successful in business and social fields, Mrs. Mooryati Soedibyo is also known as a national figure who fights for women’s rights and education in Indonesia. Her passion for voicing gender equality became an inspiration to make her an Indonesian female warrior figure. She is active in various activities that promote improved access to education for women and fight for their rights in different national and international forums.
Mrs. Mooryati is also known as an educator and writer. She wrote various books on beauty and health and gave many lectures and trainings to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining health and beauty naturally.
