Jakarta – With deep condolences, we convey that one of Indonesia’s best women, Dr. BRA. Mooryati Soedibyo, has left us in peace on Wednesday, at 1.00 am, April 24, 2024, at the age of 96.

She is known as a very active woman and made a great contribution to the nation and country.

She received the Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana award from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is considered to have contributed in various fields to the nation and state in a special ceremony at the State Palace in 2009 and was also active in politics and was even trusted to serve as vice chairman of the MPR-RI for the period 2004-2009.

She recently received an award from the capital of Thailand, Dr. Pakpilai Thaivisin for her dedication as an extraordinary woman in giving her life-long devotion to the Spa and Wellness industry.

Mooryati Soedibyo’s business journey did not start with a sophisticated marketing strategy or large capital. Rather, it stems from her passion for concocting herbs and beauty potions, an activity that grew from his childhood when she lived in the palace with her grandfather Pakubuwono X.

From her passion for herbal medicine and makeup, began a simple story that later developed into a big business.

Armed with the knowledge of nutritious plants and the ability to concoct herbs, Mooryati Soedibyo began to create products that were in demand by her friends. The result of the mixture turned out to be very popular, and demand began to flow.

This was the beginning of the establishment of PT Mustika Ratu Tbk (MRAT), a company that changed the paradigm of beauty in Indonesia.

The Struggle To Build Mustika Ratu

It was not easy for Mooryati Soedibyo to built her business from scratch. However, with strong determination and a tempestuous spirit, she managed to bring Mustika Ratu to the peak of success. In 1978, the company was officially founded, and from there the business journey went uphill.

In 1981, Mooryati Soedibyo successfully established the Mustika Ratu factory in Ciracas, East Jakarta which became the largest cosmetics factory in Indonesia at that time. This step not only increases production capacity but also opens up opportunities for business expansion into international markets.

As a result, Mustika Ratu’s herbal and beauty products can be enjoyed not only in Indonesia but also in more than 43 countries around the world.

Dedication to women’s empowerment

The success of Mooryati Soedibyo is not only limited to the business sphere. She is also known as a person who cares about the empowerment of women.

Through her Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Mooryati makes a great contribution to supporting Indonesian women to reach their potential.

In addition, Mooryati Soedibyo also did not hesitate to enter politics. In the period 2004-2009, he served as Deputy Chairman II of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), a recognition of his leadership and dedication to serving the community.
