Press Release – Mustika Ratu (MRAT) Distributes Aid for Disasters in East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara

JakartaMustika Ratu (MRAT) has distributed aid to help and ease the burden on victims of flash floods and hurricane Seroja in several areas that hit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)

The assistance was handed over by representatives of Mustika Ratu for the West Nusa Tenggara area, in Bima Regency, Aulia Ubil Qisti at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Posko Rabakodo Village, Woha District, Bima NTB Regency and the BNPB Task Force Command Post in Tangga Village, Monta District, Bima NTB.

The assistance provided is in the form of basic needs such as groceries, health products from Mustika Ratu and herbal supplements from Herbamuno + which are very good for increasing endurance and maintaining the health of residents and volunteers who are in the evacuation posts.

As well as in Bima, NTB, Mustika Ratu also handed over aid packages for victims of the Hurricane Seroja disaster at the evacuation post for Oebufu sub-district, Oebobo sub-district, Kupang City, NTT. The assistance was handed over by the NTT Mustika Ratu Area Manager, Sofyan Thalib to the Head of the Disaster Post, Yuliana Nenotek-Wila, Friday, April 30, 2021.

Sofyan Thalib said that Mustika Ratu as a partner of the NTT community is holding hands with the people of NTT to ease the burden after being hit by floods and sacred storms. Hopefully, the people of NTT who were hit by the disaster can quickly recover and rise both morally and materially, “he said.

This accident has recorded 179 victims in a state of death and 46 people missing. Most of the dead victims were in East Flores, namely 72 people, Lembata 42 people, and Alor 28. Then 12 people died in Kupang Regency, 8 people in Malacca, 6 people in Kupang City, 1 person in Rote Ndao, 1 person in Ende, and 1 person Sikka. Apart from NTT, flash floods also hit Bima, NTB. Tens of thousands of people were affected by this tragedy. Some of them were reported dead.

President Director of PT Mustika Ratu Tbk (MRAT), Bingar Egidius Situmorang, representing all management and employees of Mustika Ratu, expressed his deep condolences for this incident.

“We are also concerned about the flood and storm Seroja that befell our brothers in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Hopefully, this assistance can help ease the burden on our brothers who are being hit by a disaster. Mustika Ratu really cares about the social problems of the nation, this has become part of corporate social responsibility where we want to share with those in need, “said Bingar Egidius.

Hopefully, this disaster will not happen again, we must also be patient and continue to be aware of the environment around us, especially the people who live on the banks of the river to maintain cleanliness and protect the forest or trees as a buffer so that floods and landslides do not occur.
